The Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) is a law that gives you the right to access certain records from the government. You may submit a written FOIL request, which must reasonably describe the record or records sought, through our online FOIL Center. This guarantees that the City will receive your request.

In the alternative, you may submit your written request, which must reasonably describe the record or records sought:

by email to: MMccutcheon@schenectadyny.gov; or
by mail to: Corporation Counsel, City Hall 105 Jay Street, Schenectady, NY 12305; or
in person at the Office of the Corporation Counsel, City Hall 105 Jay Street, Schenectady, NY 12305 during regular business hours


The City is not responsible for emails which get caught in a SPAM filter, or letters that are not successfully delivered.
